Become A Member!

The Center began in 2002 to promote the art and craft of photography. Since then, hundreds of photography enthusiasts have participated in classes, workshops and lectures. As we begin our fifth year we would like to offer you the opportunity to expand your participation and support our growing involvement with the non-profit sector of our community. The Center has proudly supported projects including Viewpoint, (Kids With Cameras), the Who Among Us Exhibit, the Philip Simmons Foundation and other community based efforts. We also proudly host the ongoing Second Monday Lecture Series, which so many of you enjoy.

Our photography curriculum offers classes in all aspects of traditional film and digital photography, photo journalism, lighting techniques as well as Photoshop and a variety of other technical and creative topics.

The Center for Photography is the only organization in the Lowcountry dedicated solely to the art of fine photography and memberships are now being offered for the first time.

We need your help to continue to grow and provide our community with these services.

Become a member of the Center for Photography and you will receive:

  • A 10% discount on classes

  • Members only portfolio reviews

  • Invitations to special events featuring visiting photographers

About Us

Charleston, South Carolina, United States
We promote and teach the art and craft of photography—as an art form, as a commercial enterprise, and as a fulfilling personal activity. Our goal is to increase awareness of the impact that photographs have on us as individuals, as a community, and indeed, as a people.
